Lindsey Abbasy

Mrs. Abbasy received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Wheaton College. She received her master of arts in school counseling from Concordia University. Mrs. Abbasy is the resource teacher. She works with students on their study skills and teaches them strategies for improving their academics.

Ms. Acosta teaches Spanish. She earned a bachelor's degree in English literature, a bachelor's degree of education and is currently working toward her master's degree in English. Her studies have taken her to London and Mexico City.

Patricia Aguila-Castellanos

Mrs. Aguila-Castellanos is the department head of the world languages department. She teaches speech and Spanish I, III and IV honors and has taught at BNI since 2003. She received her bachelor's degree and master's degree from Purdue University.
Mrs. Aguila has organized our student travel abroad program to places such as Rome, Paris and Spain.

Mary Albrecht

Mrs. Albrecht is our freshman STEM teacher. She earned a bachelor's degree in humanistic studies and a minor in women’s studies from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN. She graduated with highest distinction with a M.Ed. in secondary education from Valparaiso University, and has been teaching since 2004.

Kevin Burgun

Mr. Burgun is a member of the English department. He earned his undergraduate degrees in English and religion at Hope College in Holland, Mich. Mr. Burgun has taught previously at La Lumiere School in Laporte, Ind., and Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis. He is also the coach of the Speech Team.

Rocco Carioto

Mr. Carioto is director of the Bishop Noll concert band, jazz band, and Marching Warriors. Mr. Carioto earned his bachelor of arts degree in music from Elmhurst College. Mr. Carioto has been a high school band director since 1988 and adjudicates state solo and solo ensemble for IMEA and IHSA. Mr. Carioto is a concert trombonist and has performed with the Southwest Symphony Orchestra and Chicago Jazz Connection. Mr. Carioto teaches music classes at BNI and is enrolled in a masters degree program in music education.

Johan Castaneda Hernandez

Mr. Castaneda teaches sophomore theology. He grew up in Remedios, Colombia, and completed high school in Yarumal, Colombia. Mr. Castaneda traveled to the United States where he completed his bachelor of arts in philosophy with a minor in religion at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Conn., and his Masters of Divinity at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Mr. Castaneda is also a Speech and Debate coach.

Samantha Chapleau

Ms. Chapleau is part of the Bishop Noll English Department teaching college prep junior English and Senior ACP Literature and Composition (dual credit through Indiana University). She has a bachelor's degree in English education and Spanish from Saint Xavier University and a master's degree in English from Middlebury College (Bread Loaf School of English). An avid writer and traveler, she studied for two summers at Oxford University in the UK. She is BNI's Shakesapeare Slam coach.

Ms. Dominiak is a faculty member in the Fine Arts Department, teaching Digital Design, photography and art. Ms. Dominiak is a 2012 graduate of Bishop Noll. She previously worked as a newspaper designer locally, an art director in Chicago, and in social media marketing/advertising.

Kevin Driscoll

Mr. Driscoll joined the BNI faculty in 2019. He teaches sophomore theology. Prior to his arrival at Noll, Mr. Driscoll served for 22 years in Catholic youth and young adult ministries in Illinois, Florida and Indiana, including a 16-year stint as director of youth and young adult ministry for the Diocese of Gary. He holds a master's degree in pastoral studies from Catholic Theological Union and a bachelor's of science in mass media/broadcasting from Illinois State University.

She studied Social Work at Valparaiso University where she interned at Gary's Lew Wallace High School. Michael Roggenkamp
Mr. Roggenkamp joined BNI in 2022 as Director of Student Services. He has a master's degree from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in counseling.

Lou Santellano
Mr. Santellano, a 1999 graduate of Bishop Noll, has returned to his alma mater to teach freshman theology and introduction to engineering and design. He has a bachelor’s degree from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and associate degree in construction technology from Purdue University Northwest.

Ms. Schmidt, a Bishop Noll alumna, is teaching in the science department. She teaches environmental science and anatomy.

Lauren Skvorak
Ms. Skvorak joined BNI in 2022. She teaches English 9 and 11. She student taught at BNI in 2021 and holds a bachelor's in English education from Purdue University Northwest.

Kevin Smith
Mr. Smith is the College and Career Readiness Academic Advisor in the student services department. He holds a bachelor's in health and physical education from Edinboro University of PA and is completing his master's degree with Indiana University Northwest. He has spent the last 10 years in higher education in admissions and career services, most recently at IU Northwest. Mr. Smith joined the Bishop Noll student services team in 2020. He resides in Highland with his wife Carol, a BNI Alum, and their three children. He is also an assistant coach with the BNI hockey team.

Jeff Smolinski
Mr. Smolinski joined BNI in 2022 and is teaching Theology 9. He recently retired from the management team at Jewel-Osco with several decades of service. He is an active member of his church ministry and looks forward to helping others on their faith journey.

Mr. Watrboka is teaching sophomore English. In his first year of teaching in Whiting, Ed Watrobka had to quickly adapt as schools switched to virtual learning. Now as a second year teacher, he joins the Bishop Noll faculty teaching sophomore English. Watrobka has a bachelor’s degree in English from Indiana University.
