Environmental Science students had the opportunity to canoe around Wolf Lake during a special field trip last week.

The Canoe Mobile came as part of Wilderness Inquiry (wildernessinquiry.org), a nonprofit organization that connects people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to the natural world through shared outdoor experiences. Adventures are facilitated close to home and across the globe. The experience is free and students learned canoe safety and paddling techniques before taking off.
They also met with US Forester Drew Hart and had the experience of planting six trees.
“I hope the students look back on the experience with fondness and continue to enjoy the outdoors," said Noll’s AP Environmental Science teacher, Ms. Rosalie Schmidt '70.
BNI science teachers use a combination of class work, labs and field trips to help instill a lifelong love of science in students.
Bishop Noll recently announced plans to open a state-of-the-art STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Math) Lab and Innovation Center in Fall 2019.
The $1 million-plus project, to be funded primarily by the school’s Ignite & Inspire capital campaign, is the centerpiece of the school’s drive to become the first elite STREAM school in Indiana.
