Curriculum

9th or 10th Grade:
World History I & II

10th Grade: Electives: History of the Calumet Region, Civil War

11th Grade: U.S. History I & U.S. History II, Electives: History of the Calumet Region, Civil War, A.P. United States History, Psychology, Sociology

12th Grade: Economics, Government, Electives: Sociology, Psychology, A.P. Government

Core 40/Honors Diploma: 6 credits including 2 credits of World History, 2 credits of U.S. History, 1 credit of U.S. Government, 1 credit of Economics


Academic Super Bowl:
We have teams competing in the five areas of Social Studies; Math, Science, English and Fine Arts plus an Interdisciplinary Team encompassing all five areas. The students read and research as a team to compete in regional competition in April.


Advanced Placements Courses:
U.S. History:
This is a college level class designed as a survey course of American History. It affords the students a unique opportunity for appropriate college credit while satisfying state high school requirements for graduation. Students are required to take the end of the year A.P. examination and must have a 3.0 G.P.A. to enroll in this class.

U.S. Government: Students will receive the equivalent of a college course in Government. Students will learn the origins, philosophies, history, structure, function and processes of the political system of the United States. In addition, the U.S. Constitution is studied along with the function of political parties, interest groups, and other methods of influence by which citizens can exercise their rights. Students are required to take the end of the year A.P. examination and must have a 3.0 G.P.A. to enroll in this class.
