MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT

Curriculum
Six Credit hours or the equivalent of Algebra II over a four year period will meet the requirements for an Indiana Core 40 high school diploma

9th Grade: Algebra I (153), Algebra I (152), Honors Algebra I (151) or Honors Geometry

10th Grade: Geometry (256), Geometry (255), Honors Geometry, and/or Honors Algebra II

11th Grade: Algebra I (153C) and Algebra II (354A), Algebra II (352), Honors Algebra II, or Advanced Pre-Calculus

12th Grade: Algebra II (354 B and C), Pre-Calculus, or A. P. Calculus

The Mathematics Department will determine placement.
The Mathematics Curriculum meets and exceeds the Indiana State Academic Standards!

Advanced Placement Course:

Calculus AB (12th grade): Students will cover everything in the Calculus AB topic outline as it appears in the AP Calculus Course Description. Objectives in this course not only include that students will do well on the AP Exam, but also that students understand many different types of functions represented in a variety of ways (graphically, numerically, and analytically), that students gain the tools necessary to do well in subsequent mathematics courses, and that they come to appreciate the many useful applications of calculus.
