EMPLOYMENT

Bishop Noll Institute, a school of 535 students in grades 7 through 12, is located in Hammond, Indiana.  Bishop Noll’s strengths, as reported by our parents, are safety, discipline, diversity, strong academics, and technology, among other things.  We are looking for candidates interested in being in a faith-centered environment who can contribute to academics and support student life through sports, clubs, and/or extracurricular activities.

High School Summer School Teachers : Seeking an educator licensed or seeking licensure in the areas of Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, English, preferably a combination of at least two of these areas.

The summer school 5 week schedule is June 17, 2009 - July 22, 2009.

School technologist/Director of Technology

The Ideal School Technologist would

  1. oversee the Instructional Technologist(s) within the building to plan and help facilitate ongoing training and support of teacher, student, and parent technological needs as they relate to school equipment
  2. be a member of the board subcommittee (Technology Committee) which directs the goals, professional development, and direction of the technology program of the school; helps committee to monitor goal progress
  3. be responsible for coordinating the maintenance of the school's LAN system utilizing outside support from vendors, independent contractors, etc.
  4. have an awareness of the many technical developments in the school.
  5. be aware of what budget allocations are available so new equipment can be placed in the school and existing equipment can be repaired and maintained as necessary.
  6. work cooperatively and productively with the school administration and faculty. "People" skills are needed because everyone works at different levels when they are being trained on how to use technology.
  7. have the School's Acceptable Use Policy and Copyright policies updated and distributed to all persons in the school. Record keeping and distribution can be determined by the Technologist along with the administration.
  8. perform repairs on PCs and laptops; facilitate major repairs through contracted warranty companies
  9. perform peripheral installations, software application services, and other computer support.
  10. maintain accurate inventory of instructional technology equipment, including labs, student laptops, teacher laptops, projectors and Smartboards
  11. ensure compliance with software licensure requirements
  12. problem solve creatively and make clear, informed decisions
  13. plan and direct website development; work with administrators to maintain accurate, up-to-date website
  14. be responsible for maintenance of network server, network wiring and infrastructure, security measures, system backup, printer access, Internet connectivity, network switch monitoring, operation system patches and upgrades
  15. maintain email system, office equipment, and phone system
  16. have basic knowledge of Grade Quick Web and Edline
  17. delegate appropriate responsibilities to student technologists
  18. exhibit leadership skills, work well as a team member, act in a collaborative fashion, dress and maintain self in a professional manner.
  19. Demonstrate competency in all Office applications and Dreamweaver

Qualifications: Must have background of experience, training, or certification in technology; must understand Windows environment; must demonstrate effective handling of a variety of timelines and priorities; must demonstrate accurate attention to detail in performing duties; must have exceptional communication skills.

Experience: a minimum of three years in a computer hardware and software management position that includes responsibilities for installing, maintaining, trouble shooting, and maintaining a network. Basic computer repair abilities important. Experience in education environment desired.  Ten years progressive experience desired in technology field.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in technology related area; or Associate’s with related experience
