PREP ACADEMY
ACADEMICS

Bishop Noll Institute strives to become a center of academic excellence, where students pursue the full measure of their God-given intellectual development within a challenging—yet caring—environment.

Bishop Noll Prep Academy is a unique and innovative program for young adolescents in grades 7-8. Its uniqueness stems from a rigorous and challenging curriculum to meet the needs of a global society. Technology is the innovative way to provide instructional material to students using state-of-the-art resources. In the Bishop Noll Prep Academy we do this by providing each student with a Toshiba Tablet Laptop Computer. Each class room is equipped with a Smartboard, and a digital projector. All Prep Academy faculty are certified in both their subject as well as the technology being used by the students.

Bishop Noll Prep Academy is committed to students and parents/guardians academically, behaviorally, spiritually and socially. Providing this commitment addresses the needs of our students in a variety of areas that impact a student’s achievement and success.

The program of study is expanded beyond the basic academic curriculum. Additional time is devoted to Math and Science at each grade level by incorporating an extended class period during the school day referred to as "Resource Time." Because these courses extend beyond basic skills students are receiving instruction that remains challenging. Students each have student resource time (SRT) to receive additional support in all other areas of the curriculum to promote success.

In addition, Math and Science are taught in single gender environments and class times are 40 minutes in length. Both decisions were made based on recent studies suggesting that this ensures success in both genders and does not exceed attention span for this age. Thus providing a learning environment that enables all students to reach their full academic potential.

The Bishop Noll Prep Academy is unique regarding student scheduling. A four day class rotation was devised to ensure each student has the opportunity for Resource and SRT.
