Editorial Column
October 26, 2007

Greetings alumni and friend of Bishop Noll Institute, as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, there is much to be thankful at Bishop Noll. This column is dedicated to all of you who have supported BNI during the years and have helped us grow once again into a premier educational institution. Here are some of my "thank yous".

BNI would not exist without the support and sacrifice of our parents. BNI parents are a major contributing factor into the successes we have attained. Their continued sacrifices and devotion of time and energy in and around school activities play an important role in shaping our young men and women for a future that none of us can predict.

Of course, where would any school be without teachers? Academic achievements at Noll could have not been reached without the dedication and sacrifices of our faculty and staff. BNI staff plays a vital role in the educational process at Noll. Our talented staff always goes above and beyond their normal responsibilities to meet the educational needs of our students on a daily basis. The BNI faculty and staff are preparing our students for a world that none of us can.

The Noll community would not exist without our students. Parents, faculty and staff would not have a reason to walk through the doors every morning at Noll without our talented students. Noll students are eager to come to school everyday and be a part of the Noll family. A walk-through our lunchroom showcases a melting pot of our diverse backgrounds—our students do not see color, our students’ see individuals for who they are. Returning to Noll has given me the opportunity to interact with our students and learn of their achievements in the classroom and beyond. The character our students display can be seen in the many aspects that make up Noll.

Noll students would not have a chance to develop skills outside the classroom without out dedicated coaches who devote countless hours to BNI athletics and give up much of their personal time to teach sportsmanship—the way BNI athletes play the game. Our coaches instill character and discipline outside the classroom—shaping our student athletes into outstanding young adults.

The Noll campus would not run without the hard work of our maintenance team. The maintenance staff works behind the scenes to keep the BNI campus running smoothly. These dedicated staff members are a less visible but equally important part of the BNI family.

There are not enough words to show appreciation to all of you for all you have done for Noll, you may have heard all of this before, but it is truly a pleasure to have all of you part of the Noll family. Thank you.

In other Noll news, the class of '57 held their 50 year reunion the weekend of Oct 19 here at Noll and also at Briar Ridge Country Club. I had an opportunity to meet some of the reunion coordinators during their visit to Noll and these women still have their Warrior pride. The weekend was filled with laughter, sharing memories and making new ones. It is incredible to hear about some of our earlier classes and how they have stayed in touch over the years. Congratulations Class of '57 and thank you for coming home to Noll.

In a Noll news reminder, the BNI theatre department will showcase Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as their fall production. This will be a delight for the whole family. Contact BNI for more information.
