Amazing describes the recent Bishop Noll Institute Homecoming 2007; it was a festive week with Warrior pride displayed across the Noll campus. The hallways and classrooms were decorated with a the homecoming theme, A Black & White New York Night. Pictures of the New York City skyline adorned windows and hallways and the week ended with the annual homecoming pep rally, football game, tailgate party and dance.
Last Friday afternoon, our pep rally allowed students to display school and class pride.

The rally engaged students in various competition games from pie eating contests, obstacle courses, yelling contests and much more. The BNI dance and cheerleading teams presented well choreographed numbers aimed at elevating school pride. Bishop Noll freshman participated in their first pep rally and our seniors experienced their last of various events at school as they progress towards graduation. The BNI football team was one of the many teams highlighted for achievements during the fall sports season. BNI boys and girls soccer, volleyball, tennis, and cross country teams were all recognized for their accomplishments and dedication by those student athletes.

The week of activities ended with the BNI student homecoming dance. The BNI Student Council Homecoming Committee decorated the cafeteria and main hallways into the Homecoming theme and students danced the night away.

The annual alumni tailgate has grown into a popular event with more than 400 friends and alumni coming home to Noll to see old friends and meet new people. Tailgate attendees were treated to music, food and beverages in the BNI fieldhouse. A generous alum sponsored a portion of the tailgate - one of the many ways our alums are giving back to their alma mater. Two classes held their respective reunions this weekend too. The classes of ’87 & ‘97 were well represented on Friday night at the tailgate and had more events planned for the weekend. A portion of the class of ‘97 was treated to a tour of the BNI campus highlighting our numerous building improvements over the last few years.

On Friday night, I had the chance to meet many fellow alums spanning several decades and many shared with me their connection towards Bishop Noll. Now why do I call this amazing? This is just a small portion of the myriad of Noll happenings that set us apart of area schools. BNI students infuse our building every day with their energy and spirit and our alums and friends have gone one to every corner of the globe knowing they are always welcome back at Noll. I would like to thank everyone who made this a successful homecoming week from our parents, staff and our students. I hope memories you have made thus far will stay with you for many years to come.

In other Noll news, we have much more to look forward to in the coming months. Our annual open house for prospective students is next month, our winter sports season is just around the corner, and our theatre department will present their fall theatrical production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Stop by and see for yourself the Noll pride!
