Attention alumni of Bishop Noll. The spirit and pride are back! Have you felt? Head it? Seen it? Helped it? The Annual Fund at Bishop Noll Institute is currently underway. This year's goal has been set at $225,000. The Annual Fund is the largest single fundraising effort for Noll every year. This fund covers the shortfall between tuition and cost of educating each student.

In just two short years, the Annual Fund has more than doubled. From $94,000 in 2004 to over $195,000 this past year. That is an impressive jump. The Bishop Noll Development Office is currently contacting over 14,000 alumni via our Annual Fund letter outlining our successes.

This year, Diocesan tuition is $5,800 for the high school. This may seem like a tremendous amount of money, but the quality of education the students are receiving at Noll is worth it. Noll has once again set the education bar high for area schools.

As I have said in earlier columns, The Indiana Department of Education has ranked Noll "Exemplary" for the second year in a row. This is the top ranking available. To achieve exemplary status, the number of 10th grade students passing the ISTEP must increase significantly each year. To maintain the status quo is not enough. Noll is one of just 21 schools statewide with this ranking and has earned it for two years! Noll continues to achieve.

As I have been telling you, things don't just feel better or look better at Noll, they are better. For the fifth year, enrollment is up; this year enrollment is up 12 percent. More than 560 students have started or are continuing their education at Noll. Recently, a generous alum donated money to renovate the music/band room. Another charitable Noll family donated the funds for a new chapel that is now located in the main hallway of the school. This past summer seven classrooms were renovated for our new re-vamped Bishop Noll Prep Academy. Currently, the Noll administrative team is setting agendas and outlining summer 2008 projects—an additional twenty four classrooms are slated for renovation.

Alums—watch for your letter in the mail. Much is happening at Noll and I encourage you to come home to Noll. I hope to meet fellow alums and friends at our annual Homecoming Tailgate Party on Oct. 5 in the Bishop Noll Fieldhouse
