Greetings alumni and friends of Bishop Noll Institute

There is an expression among the Bishop Noll Institute community—"There is Noll Place like Noll," and I truly believe this expression. As a proud graduate of the class of '02, I have returned to my Alma Mater as the new Development assistant. My years as a Noll student were some of the best years of my life. It feels great to be back and to see the new generation of students, faculty, staff and parents who carry on the Noll spirit. I have had the opportunity to meet many students from seventh grade to seniors. As I walked the halls and met with students I noticed Noll is still a melting pot of cultures, the students here become part of the family.

Noll has achieved new milestones in the areas of instruction and technology. The introduction of the Bishop Noll Prep Academy with its new curriculum and emphasis on 21st Century learning & technology has brought Noll to the forefront of education in Northwest Indiana. The Indiana Department of Education recently ranked BNI exemplary for the school's continued improvement in standardized tests for a second year in a row. We have much more to look forward to as the Noll community continues to move above and beyond.

The Bishop Noll Prep Academy has welcomed its first class. Some highlights from our Prep Academy include the introduction of the one to one laptop program and an entirely new curriculum. In conjunction with all students now having computers, Smartboards and digital projectors have been installed in the seven classrooms that were remodeled this summer to house our Prep Academy. Prep Academy students will have shorter class periods, Mandarin Chinese, high school level Math & Science classes and homeroom & Physical education every day. All classes will be taught in team environment by our Prep Academy staff that has held lengthy meetings this summer in anticipation of this new program. All these improvements in curriculum and technology will follow these students into the high school, so stayed tuned as we continue down this road.

Bishop Noll has added 13 new members to the faculty and staff. Our new staff additions bring a wealth of experience to the Noll community. Dr. Michelle Rushing has been named Dean of Academics and she brings over 15 years of experience to her new position. Dr. Rushing's philosophy is a student-focused attitude and atmosphere. Mike Juscik, '89 has been named the new Director of Admissions along with taking the reins as our head football coach. Juscik brings a wealth of knowledge in admissions and coaching from his years at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan.

We continue to make significant progress in our enrollment numbers. As of this writing we have over 500 students enrolled at Noll. Our families make tremendous sacrifices to provide their children with a quality education, outstanding athletic programs, and an array of extracurricular activities offered in a faith based environment here at Noll.

Our alumni and friends continue to show their support for Noll that have helped us increase our Annual Fund successes and the amount of available scholarship dollars for students. Their generosity has also supported facility improvements and aided with professional development. The current Noll family would like to express our gratitude for this continued support in Noll and Catholic education. These gifts will continue to reap rewards for us all, as these children become our future.

I want to take this opportunity to give Mrs. Janet Albert, Ms. Carole Hepner, Mrs. Therese Putz and Mr. Ron Partyka a sincere and heartfelt thank you for their many years of dedication to Noll. I hope all of you enjoy retirement and your new chapter in life.

Come by and see for yourself all the Noll news in action at 1519 Hoffman Street!

Blue and Gold Pride.
