Greetings alumni and friends of Bishop Noll Institute, much is happening at 1519 Hoffman Street as we near the end of the 2007-2008 school year and the 86 years of quality Catholic education in Northwest Indiana.

Our seniors are nearing the end of their high school years and will begin to shift their focus onto life after high school. Many of our seniors will be attending the nation’s top colleges and universities and continue to build on their Noll education. Just this past weekend, the seniors and many juniors, danced the night away at Prom. Noll math teacher, Tom Feltz and the junior class Prom committee provided an “Enchanted Garden” for students as they celebrated their years at Noll. Seniors Mark Mendoza & Heather Wigsmoen were crowned Prom King and Queen. The event took place at Cloister in the Woods in Munster with dinner was provided by Comforts Catering.

In other Noll news, Dean of Students, Sheila Kelly has reached a milestone in her professional career.  Miss Kelly was recently honored along with other members of the Diocese of Gary for their years of service. Miss Kelly has been at Noll for forty years! She is an integral part of the Noll community. Kelly began her career in the classroom, has held many positions and currently serves as Dean of Students and Assistant Principal. She has provided leadership and guidance to thousands of students, faculty and staff members throughout her tenure. Congratulations and thanks for all of your dedication and service to Noll.

As we near the end of the our current school year, Principal Scott D. Fech will embark on a new chapter in his professional life. Principal Fech has accepted a position as Director of Staff Services with Grayslake, Illinois community school district. Fech, a 1985 Noll graduate has served the Noll community as principal for the last six years. During his tenure, he has led the entire school: administration, faculty, staff, students and their families by working together, asking the right questions, applauding successes, pushing when he needed to and waiting when that was required too.  Principal Fech has celebrated with the school community as we achieved our Exemplary rating for two consecutive years from the Indiana Department of Education. Other important achievements include growing enrollment for the last five years, the introduction of the Bishop Noll Prep Academy and integrating the latest technology into our 21st century digital learning centers.

In other Noll news, don’t forget to mark your calendars for Monday, July 21 for the annual BNI Golf Outing at Innsbrook Country Club in Merrillville, Indiana. Visit bishopnoll.org or contact the Development office for more information.
